Gonçalo Regalado

CEO, Banco do Fomento

Gonçalo Regalado is the Chief Executive Officer of the Sovereign Bank of Portugal, named Banco Português de Fomento, since January 2025 in order to deliver a sustainable financial framework for companies and projects settled in Portugal.

Previously, Gonçalo was the Chief Marketing Officer for Corporate and SMEs companies, responsible for customer segmentation, product management, supply chain finance, European funds Programmes and banking tailormade solutions for corporate Millennium bcp customers.

Before that, he supported corporate customers applying for European funded investment projects (Portugal 2020, Horizon 2020, European Investment Plan) and defined commercial solutions to Portuguese economic sectors.

Previously, he led the cabinet of the Portuguese Minister for Internal Affairs. He was the Portuguese Executive Officer for Erasmus+ Youth in Action – an European Commission programme dedicated to Education, Training, Youth and Sport. He led a 15-people team and managed an overall budget over 45 Million Euros.

His professional track record also encompasses a 2-year experience as CEO financial advisor at Portugal Telecom Inovação (R&D branch of the leading telecom company in Portugal), a 3-year experience as strategic consultant at Millennium bcp (the largest Portuguese private bank) and 1-year experience as Portuguese Executive Officer in Youth in Action Programme (European Commission). He holds an Advanced Executive Education in Management from AESE-IESE (Portugal and NY), a Master of Science degree in Finance and Investments from Erasmus University (Rotterdam School of Management), an executive education diploma in Innovation Management from Catholic University of Portugal (School of Economics and Management) and a 5-year in Business Administration from University of Coimbra (Faculty of Economics).
