João Duarte

Associate Professor of Economics, Nova SBE

João Duarte is an Associate Professor of Economics at Nova School of Business and Economics (Nova SBE) in Lisbon. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and was previously a research fellow at the University of Cambridge.

His research focuses on housing markets and structural transformation, exploring how monetary policy interacts with housing dynamics and how labor reallocation across industries affects productivity growth. João Duarte applies structural macroeconometrics in his work and teaches Macroeconomics and Macroeconometrics at Nova SBE.
